Saran, Bihar | In a bold political move, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan announced on Sunday that his party will contest all 243 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking at a massive rally in Saran, Paswan asserted that despite “conspiracies” to block his entry into state politics, he remains determined to lead Bihar into a new era of development.
“I want to take Bihar to new heights. I envision a future where our youth no longer need to migrate for jobs or education — rather, people from other states will come to Bihar in search of better opportunities,” Paswan said.
He also raised concerns over recent law and order issues in the state, including the murder of prominent industrialist Gopal Khemka. He questioned the efficiency of the Nitish Kumar-led government, which the LJP (RV) supports, stating that such incidents cast doubt on its claims of good governance.
Paswan, without directly naming his estranged uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras, took a veiled dig at him for aligning with the opposition INDIA bloc. “I was expelled from my own party and forced to vacate my own house. Those who only care about securing their own future are disturbed by my ‘Bihar First, Bihari First’ vision catching public attention,” he said.
“To eliminate any confusion, let me make it clear from this sacred land of Saran — I will contest the Assembly elections, and I will field candidates on all 243 seats,” he declared, affirming his commitment with intensity and clarity.
Paswan also criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Chhatra Yuva Sansad’ campaign that distributes free pens to students. “The same people who took land in exchange for job promises are now handing out pens,” he quipped, alluding to the railway job scam involving Tejashwi’s father, Lalu Prasad Yadav.
He extended support to the youth’s demand for a domicile policy, noting that the original policy introduced in 2006 was scrapped in 2023 during RJD’s tenure in government, when Tejashwi Yadav was the Deputy Chief Minister and his party held the education portfolio.
Paswan also urged caution over the Congress party’s proposal for an inheritance tax, mentioned in its 2024 Lok Sabha manifesto, warning voters to stay wary of the opposition INDIA alliance.
“The upcoming elections are crucial,” Paswan concluded. “We are not just contesting to win seats, we are fighting to build a Bihar where people feel safe, proud, and full of opportunity.”
